What is SUD Life Century Assure?

SUD Life Century Assure is a Non-Linked, Non-Participating, Individual Savings Life Insurance Plan. It brings together a guaranteed lumpsum at maturity, life insurance cover through the policy term and the Easy Cash option, so you can plan for a dated financial goal knowing what the policy will pay, provided all due premiums are paid and the policy is in force.

At the time of buying the policy you choose the plan option, the annualised premium, the premium payment term of 7, 10 or 12 years and the policy term of 20, 25 or 30 years. The plan option, once chosen, cannot be changed during the policy term.

There are three plan options. Future Sure pays the Sum Assured on Death (SAD) to the nominee, waives all future premiums and continues the policy so that the full Guaranteed Maturity Benefit is paid at the end of the term. Family Sure does the same and, in addition, triggers a term cover for the registered spouse for the remaining policy term at no extra cost. Goal Sure pays a single lumpsum death benefit and the policy ends.

Guaranteed Additions (GA) accrue every year from the end of the first policy year as a percentage of your annualised premium, provided the policy is in force and risk has commenced. They increase progressively up to the end of the premium payment term and then continue at that level for the rest of the policy term. Guaranteed Additions once attached cannot be reduced.

The Sum Assured on Death depends on the entry age, the plan option, the annualised premium, the premium payment term and the policy term you select. The Sum Assured on Death is 10.5 times the annualised premium. This plan suits people who want guaranteed savings with life insurance protection, who prefer paying premiums for a limited period, and who are planning for medium to long-term goals.

    Plan Options

At the time of buying the policy, you choose one of three plan options: Future Sure, Family Sure or Goal Sure. The choice decides how the death benefit is paid and whether the policy continues after a claim. Once chosen, the plan option cannot be changed during the policy term.

    Future Sure

Future Sure is designed to keep a financial goal funded even if the life assured is not around to see it through. On the death of the life assured during the policy term:

    • The Sum Assured on Death is paid immediately to the nominee
    • All future premiums are waived off and the policy continues as an in-force policy
    • Guaranteed Additions keep accruing as per an in-force policy
    • The full Guaranteed Maturity Benefit is paid to the nominee at the end of the policy term

On survival to maturity, the Guaranteed Maturity Benefit (Sum Assured on Maturity plus accrued Guaranteed Additions) is paid.

How Does the SUD Life Century Assure Plan Work?

    1.Choose Plan Option

At inception the policyholder selects one of three plan options: Future Sure, Family Sure or Goal Sure. The choice decides how the death benefit is paid and whether the policy continues after a claim. Once chosen, the plan option cannot be changed during the policy term.

    2.Policy and Premium Term

The policyholder selects the annualised premium, subject to a minimum of Rs. 25,000, along with a premium payment term of 7, 10 or 12 years and a policy term of 20, 25 or 30 years. The Sum Assured on Death is 10.5 times the annualised premium, subject to a minimum of Rs. 2,62,500.

3.Decide on Easy Cash and Spouse Registration

If the Easy Cash option is wanted, it must be opted for at inception, as it cannot be exercised later. Under Family Sure, the spouse must be registered at inception and the age difference between the life assured and the spouse must be three years or less.

    4.Payment Mode Flexibility

Premiums are payable through the premium payment term in yearly, half-yearly, quarterly or monthly mode. Monthly mode is available through the National Automated Clearing House (NACH) or standing instruction only. The premium payment frequency may be altered at any policy anniversary during the premium payment term.

    5.Guaranteed Additions

Guaranteed Additions accrue from the end of the first policy year, provided the policy is in force and risk has commenced. For a premium payment term of 7 years, the first year Guaranteed Addition is 10% of the annualised premium; for a premium payment term of 12 years it is 12%. The addition increases each year by 50% of the first year Guaranteed Addition up to the end of the premium payment term and then continues at that level to the end of the policy term.

6.Easy Cash Option (if opted for)

Where Easy Cash has been opted for and the policy is in force with all due premiums paid, an amount between 10% and 70% of the annualised premium may be drawn each policy year from the applicable start year. The total accumulated Easy Cash together with any outstanding loan and accrued interest shall not exceed 80% of the surrender value at any point, and the accumulated amount is deducted from the death, maturity or surrender benefit.

    7.Death Benefit

Under Future Sure and Family Sure, the Sum Assured on Death is paid to the nominee, all future premiums are waived, the policy continues as an in-force policy, Guaranteed Additions keep accruing and the full Guaranteed Maturity Benefit is paid at the end of the policy term. Under Family Sure, an additional term cover of 70% of the Sum Assured on Death at inception (50% where the entry age is 50 years and above) is triggered for the registered spouse for the remaining policy term. Under Goal Sure, the higher of the Sum Assured on Death plus accrued Guaranteed Additions and the Guaranteed Addition for the year of death, or the surrender value on the date of death, is paid and the policy ends. Under every option the total death benefit is at least 105% of the total premiums paid as on the date of death.

    8.Maturity Benefit

The company shall pay the Guaranteed Maturity Benefit, which is the Sum Assured on Maturity plus accrued Guaranteed Additions, adjusted for any accumulated Easy Cash and any outstanding loan with interest. The policy ends on payment of the maturity benefit.
