A society is a sum of its parts, whose development is intricately linked with one another — when one stratum prospers, the other grows in turn. At SUD Life,we understand this deeply and firmly believe that the health and welfare of our people, the community and society, are intrinsic to our country’s progress. We believe that individuals and even entire societies can fundamentally change to alter the trajectory of the world we live in. This needs to be initiated at the grassroot level to build a necessary balance between the quality of life in urban cities and rural quarters of India. We initiated our CSR journey in 2013, in Maharashtra when we came to know of the plight of the farmers affected by persistent drought in the Marathwada region. Two villages, in particular—Bolegaon and Mohpuri—stood out because of the intensity of the problems that they grappled with. In 2016, we established SUD Life Foundation - the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm of SUD Life. It was formed with the objective of uplifting the lives of people residing in remote locations. Based on the core idea of offering sustainable solutions to the rural populace, the foundation seeks to initiate small steps that bring about a positive impact in their lives. We diligently endeavor to work with villages in developing robust infrastructure that fulfills necessities like water, healthcare, sanitation, and education, along with better irrigation systems to support their livelihood and guide them on a path to self-reliance.

The project is our genuine effort to improve school infrastructure in villages which is a reason for low literacy.
Training to Self Help group (SHG). The aim of Project Shakti is to ensure empowerment of women and youth through imparting skill development training for agriculture.
We have also initiated a cleanliness drive to create awareness among villages to keep their village clean. Cleanliness drives were conducted in all villages through participation of villagers, school students.

SUD Life supported the farming community in Mohpuri in installing drip irrigation equipment in our fields. This has optimized our overall water use and helped farmers tremendously in our village. Using drip irrigation, I now grow 7–9 quintals of cotton per acre as compared to 5–6 quintals per acre earlier. Moreover, this technology ensures that soil retains moisture, improving the quality of the crop as well.”

I received a bicycle in 2016 from the SUD Life Foundation. Since then, I have been asserting my independence by commuting without anyone’s help. The bicycle has changed my life completely. In 2012, my life took a miserable turn, when after repeated crop failures—due to adverse climatic conditions—agricultural yield declined, and my husband lost his life to a prolonged illness. I was left to fend for my three kids under the age of 10.Around this time, I received a sewing machine from the SUD Life Foundation.Thereafter, I completed a tailoring course in Ambad. The sewing machine helps me provide for my children as well as allows me to work from home with such young kids to care for. Today, I earn `200-250 per day. I am truly grateful to SUD Life, as I am capable of raising my children on my own.”
