This is with reference to IRDA’s circular IRDA/F&A/CIR/GLD/195/08/2014 dated 20th Aug, 2014 on disclosure of unclaimed amount.
circular outlines the following:
Unclaimed amounts of policyholders shall be disclosed as per the following criteria:
in respect of claims settled but not paid, from the date the claim processing has been completed by the insurer
in respect of amounts due to policyholders on account of death or surrender, from the date of receipt of all information/ documents from the policyholders; and in case of maturity, survival benefits, annuity, etc. from the due
date as per the policy contract.
in respect of excess collection of premium or tax, from the date on which the excess receipts become payable which may be on acceptance of proposal or as per terms of policy contract or as per applicable law or directions of the
Authority, and
with respect to cheques issued but not encashed by the policyholders/ beneficiaries, the cheques crossing the validity dates (becoming stale) during a month shall be transferred to “unclaimed amounts” at the end of that month.
For the benefit of our Policyholders, SUD Life has uploaded the following information in respect of unclaimed amount as on 30th September 2016 on the website.
To claim your unclaimed amount please follow the steps given below :

Enter required fields and submit the bank details.
Download and print the 'Unclaimed Request Refund Form'.
Visit your nearest SUD Life office and submit the form along with the required documents to enable us process the refund.
